The Story behind The Aquarian Shift Song

Coincidence and synchronicity were what directed me to write my novel “The Aquarians,” and these two mysterious forces continue to play a huge role as the book finds its way into the hands of readers from all over the world.

One such person is a talented rap artist by the name of J.Walker. After reading the book, he contacted me and told me two incredible things: First, the numbers 12/21 had been significant to him since childhood (although he had no idea that this date represented the end of the Mayan calendar!) and, second, he wanted to know how he could help promote my novel’s message of peace and hope. It actually took me a couple of days for the lightbulb to go off and propose the idea that he perform a rap song containing elements from the book, but he instantly got excited. We set out to capture the feel of what the Aquarian Age is all about, even sampling the song “Aquarius” as performed by the 5th Dimension in 1969. Combined with a slideshow video, The Aquarian Shift got more than 50,000 hits in less than a year, with many people begging to know how they could download the song. Unfortunately, we could not sell the original version because of licensing issues pertaining to the samples.

So we set out again on a mission to create our own song from the ground up, this time employing the musical production talents of my son, Ryan, and added more lyrics and other spoken elements to the song. For those, J.Walker’s amazingly talented and Aquarian-minded wife gilli moon performed the voice-overs and lyrical flourishes, and her Australian accent added such a great global feel to her words.

“Every day, more and more people are hearing about the end of the Mayan calendar, which will occur on December 21st, 2012, at exactly 11:11 in the morning Greenwich Mean Time. The question is, “What were the Mayans envisioning… Was it the end of time, or the beginning of a whole new reality?”

A thousand years ago, the Mayans predicted
Every solstice and equinox, the lunar eclipses
But their calendar stops in 2012
And some people think that’s the beginning of hell
